We have simplified the Adult Name Change process into five easy steps. By using our services you won’t need to recreate the wheel or learn how to navigate multiple government offices. Read on to learn how we can make your adult name change easy.
Step 1: Contact Us
To get started, just give us a call or use the contact form to the right. We’ll be happy to give you a free evaluation and answer any questions you have. If you’re ready to get started, we’ll gather the information that we need for your name change and begin work on your adult name change case.
Step 2: Get Fingerprinted
Our office now offers fingerprinting services on-site at no additional charge. Before we began offering this service, clients needed to locate a police station that provided fingerprinting services, pay for them, and bring the fingerprints to their name change appointment. It was an extra stop, extra time, and an additional cost. Some clients also found that getting fingerprinted by a police officer was intimidating. All of that can be avoided now by utilizing our on-site fingerprinting services.
Step 3. Sign Paperwork
Once you’ve been fingerprinted, we’ll work with you to finalize and sign the necessary paperwork for your name change. We have a notary public on-site to notarize your documents at no additional charge. After you have reviewed and signed your completed name change petition, we’ll take care of filing it with the court.
Step 4. Court
Most name changes matters we work on require that we go to court to legally change your name. As your attorney, we will appear in court with you, argue for your name change before the court, and obtain the necessary court order to prove that your name has been legally changed.
Step 5. Follow Through
Once the court issues an order legally changing your name, we will prepare the documents that will be needed to update your Driver’s License, State Identification, Social Security Card, Passport, and Birth Certificate if desired. Because you won’t have to track down the procedure and documents needed for each government agency, you’ll save a ton of time, headache, and worry. Upon request, we can also provide letters you can use to update your information with employers, banks, credit card companies, insurers, and utility companies.
